The Eken M009s Tablet PC has landed, complete with Angry Birds!

April 26th, 2011 by Gareth No comments »

We like to think ourselves very lucky to get our hands on the latest super tablet from Eken. The M009s is a great introduction to the world of Tablet PC’s for those who want to dabble. The specification is simply mindblowing at the price

Firstly this 7″ Touchscreen tablet will run on Android 2.2 meaning you can download all the latest apps and games. Not many tablet pc’s have the processing power to run the CPU intensive game ‘Angry Birds’. Pre loaded with the game the Eken M009s will have you flinging menacing looking birds across the screen at random objects with ease! The My Gadget Tree version also includes a built in Kindle app.

Similar to most of the other Ekens it also includes all the necessary software for office applications, email, image viewing, web browser (with wifi), MP4 and Video playing, Ebook Reading and Voice Recording. You will also get a built in 1.3 MegaPixel camera (Ok not the greatest camera but not to be sniffed at on such a low priced device!) and a gravity sensor.

Our brand new website www.spyearpiece.co.uk went live today. If you are not aware of the Spy Earpiece it is a fantastic device capable of receiving wireless audio from a source such as a mobile phone or an mp3 player. Similar to a mobile phone wireless headset you can take part in 2 way conversation with a friend via a mobile phone. The difference being, once the spy earpiece is in the ear it is almost impossible for a third party to see the device.

Many of our customers use the Spy Earpiece Kit to receive assistance from a friend during a nerve wracking speech or presentation. Yes you can telephone a friend prior to your speech or presentation, put the phone in the pocket, a neckloop around your neck hidden under your clothes plus the earpiece in your ear; Then your friend/associate can issue instructions to you via your mobile phone and you will hear them clearly in the earpiece!.

There are endless situations where a Covert Spy Earpiece Kit such as this could prove useful, have a browse on the site and we will give you some ideas!

We also sell a Bluetooth Spy Earpiece Kit which includes a wireless bluetooth neckloop. So you dont have to wire it up to your phone, if your phone ar mp3 player supports bluetooth then you have a wire free solution. Lets not forget that each of the neckloops also incorporate a microphone so you can also talk to your associate.

Coming very soon we will also be stocking bluetooth pen and bluetooth glasses. Both items to be used in place of the induction neckloop, watch this space!

Ebay reports huge $559 million profit thanks to Paypal

ebay Ebay reports huge $559 million profit thanks to Paypal

Ebay have reported revenue for the fourth quarter ending December 31st as around $2.5 billion with a net profit of just under $559 million. The figures were better than expected thanks to Paypal bringing in $26.9 billion in payments.

John Donahue chief executive at ebay commented “We are driving strong local growth at PayPal and strengthening our core eBay business.”.

The figures were expected to be lower given that daily traffic appears to be decreasing for ebay, March showing a 6 year low compared to previous march statistics. Ebay received 49.6 million unique visitors in March 2010 compared to 61 million in March 2007. However ebay are adapting to the way people shop by focusing on functionality to allow people to browse and purchase using smartphones. “Mobile is increasing the number of Internet-enabled transactions, and in the process it is rapidly blurring the line between online and offline,” said Donahue.

Given that ebay has no serious competition right now the huge profit figures are not surprising. Offering no alternative to paypal as a pyament processor its a win win situation for ebay. Charge the seller for listing the item, then take a cut of the sale via paypal!

Personally id love to see Google come up with an auction marketplace. Its about time there was some serious competition for ebay, so that frustrated sellers have a choice!

Bluetooth Spy Earpiece In stock

January 18th, 2011 by Gareth No comments »

Newly added to the mygadgettree shop is the Bluetooth Spy Earpiece. The package includes a neckloop with a blutooth receiver to be worn around the neck, plus a tiny black wireless bluetooth earpiece. To use simply pair your bluetooth phone or bluetooth audio device to the receiver, just like adding a bluetooth headset. Pop the mobile or device on your pocket, the loop around your neck and the earpiece in your ear and your ready for action! Were already getting numerous calls from worried students taking exams plus a few people looking for a solution to enable them to record a speech or presentation and play it back through the wireless earpiece without any one else becoming aware:

The new Spy Earpiece Bluetooth now in store

Once the wireless earpiece is placed in the ear its practically invisible. The hole in our ear is naturally dark to the observer, so the black colour completely disguises the earpiece. Even if someone knew that the earpiece was in your ear, they would struggle to see it!

Although we dont condone it we do get lots of purchases from students who wish to use our earpiece to assist them when taking exams. If you have experience using our bluetooth earpiece for any specific reason we would love to hear from you. How did it go? Did you pass that exam? Did it help ease the nerves when delivering that nerve wracking speech of presentation? Have you carried our your own DIY missions? Drop us a comment below!

If you dont already own this device we have a small amount of stock at the moment so get your orders in quick!

Note we will be expanding our range of earpieces over the next month. Look out for our budget and professional spy earpiece..

China bans Skype!

December 30th, 2010 by Gareth No comments »

The telegraph reported this morning that Skype is now banned in China. China have their reasons but I suspect they dissaprove of the fact that more and more people are choosing to use the free services that Skype provide rather than pay the big telecoms giants for paid services. The timing isnt ideal for Skype on the same day that they launch an update to their  Skype iphone app which allows video calling on the iphone 4.

The ‘People’s Daily’ usually known as the official speaker for the Communist Party, announced that all internet video calling services have been banned apart from those provided by 2 state owned telecom networks – ‘China Unicom’ and ‘China Telecom’.

Professor Kan Kaili at Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications commented on the difficulty of enforcing such a ban:

“Skype is the market leader, but there is also MSN and Gmail Talk. The children of Chinese government officials, who are studying abroad, use these services to call home, so I do not think anyone is going to cut the lines. Even if they take a strict approach, such as getting local operators to block the broadband services of people who use Skype, people will still find a way around it,”.
